Originally written by Luo Jinqing. This play was performed in 1924 by the Renshou Nian Troupe, starring Qianliju, Chang'e Ying, and Ma Shizeng. Later, Ma Shizeng revised the script multiple times, reducing the original twenty-plus scenes to five, refining the plot, and highlighting the chivalrous spirit of Yu Xiahun and Cui Yingniang. In 1957, it was performed by the Guangdong Cantonese Opera Troupe, starring Ma Shizeng, Hong Xiannu, Li Cuifang, Li Feilong, and He Jianqiu. In 1979, the Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Troupe No. 1 revived the version revised by Li Puzhe, starring Huang Zhiming, Luo Chuhua, and Lin Jiabi.
